A simple way to make your summer count this year.
I thought I'd be 80 years old and look back and say "Wow, life has gone by quickly" but when I became a mom it seems someone pressed fast forward.
I'm sure it's because we are so in tune with each milestone that marks our children growing that we forget to enjoy the "inbetween seasons".
Not yet walking? That's fine. Enjoy the crawling.
Not yet in kindergarten? That's fine. Enjoy the days not scheduled so tightly by someone else's calendar.
Summer is here. The beautiful long days are so inviting and I knew I wanted to make sure we enjoyed this season as much as possible before school starts again.
The girls and I try to spend each and every day outside.
We're taking advantage of these days at home and recently made a “Bucket List” so that we could make the most of our time together and do an activity that someone else wanted to do.
We had a lot of fun making our bucket list as you can see below.

If you've never made a bucket list just gather these supplies, you can get most of them at the Dollar Store or find them around the house, and do the following…
fun colored markers
white poster board - we used a giant post-it note sticky pad but we have used just a plain piece of computer paper in a pinch.
a piece of paper for notes & generating ideas
the entire family in attendance
Have everyone chime in ideas. It's helpful to have someone taking notes so all the ideas can be written down and valued.
Once the ideas start slowing down make your board as fun and festive as you'd like.
If there is a big plan someone wants to try (i.e. trips or overnights) be sure to write a date or a couple dates that would work.
I find when I assign a date to address the bigger items I'm more inclined to actually do them, instead of waking up the first day of school and realizing we never finished half the items on our list.
The summer will go by so fast, time is so precious and our kids/fur babies/selves are only guaranteed this moment right here, right now.
Let's have some fun and live this summer with purpose, shall we?
Do you have a bucket list? If so, tell me below what's on it. If you don't have one, what would you put on one?
Let me know below. I'd really love to hear from you.
